OUR TEAM

NATALIE BRAKE – founder

As the founder of Tiny House Listings Canada, Natalie has played an instrumental role in fostering and nurturing the tiny house movement across Canada. Drawing inspiration from her own experience of living in a tiny house, she recognized the growing community of individuals seeking alternatives to traditional housing, and in 2015, took the initiative to establish Tiny House Listings Canada.

The website and vibrant Facebook community groups now provide a virtual platform for tens of thousands of Canadians to connect, share ideas, and support one another on their journey towards a more sustainable lifestyle.

In addition to her pioneering work within the tiny house community, Natalie is also a celebrated abstract painter, art instructor, and creative coach based in the city of Victoria, BC. Her artwork, inspired by the beauty of nature and her deep reverence for the environment, serves as a testament to her unwavering commitment to living harmoniously with the world around her. During her winters in Nayarit, Mexico, Natalie continues to expand her knowledge and learning in bioconstruction and permaculture, furthering her dedication to sustainable living practices.

Her passion for nature is not only evident in her professional pursuits but also in her personal endeavors, as she explores community living models around the world and seeks to understand what fosters true connection and collaboration among diverse populations.

Thank you for joining Natalie on her remarkable journey as she continues to inspire, innovate, and advocate for a more sustainable and interconnected world.

CASSIE LOEWEN –  advocate

Hey there, world-changers and tiny living enthusiasts! I’m Cassie, your not-so-typical partner in the tiny living revolution, and the freshest face on the block at Tiny House Listings Canada.

Now, let me attempt the impossible: putting my eclectic self into words. Picture this – a perpetual wanderer who has made a home out of 4 tiny houses, a yurt, and yes, even a greenhouse (temporarily, but we don’t talk about that). I’m the living, breathing proof that you can’t put Cassie in a box, but if you did, it’d probably be a tiny, cozy one.

I’m your friendly neighborhood activist, shaking up the status quo, an environmentalist planting seeds of change (and sometimes actual seeds), a social worker with a heart as big as my tiny house, and an artist who believes life is the grandest canvas of all.

Currently residing in a charming tiny house nestled in the woods of Jordan River, BC, I’ve traded city skylines for towering trees and traffic noise for the soothing symphony of nature. Here, I’ve mastered the delicate art of surfing, writing, and living well in a space that’s a tad bigger than your average shoebox.

Catch me riding the waves off Jordan River when the sun’s up, chasing that perfect wave and grinning like a Cheshire cat. As the sun sets, find me huddled in my tiny sanctuary, weaving words into tales that mirror the rhythm of the ocean – sometimes wild, sometimes serene, but always authentic.

Get ready for a wild ride with yours truly, Cassie, your partner in crime (or rather, tiny) in this whimsical journey through the world of tiny living. Let’s break free from the ordinary and redefine what it means to live well – one tiny dwelling at a time!
